Ottawa, ON., November 26, 2025 — The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is proud to announce that its Chief Executive Officer, Lorraine Lafrenière, has been elected as President of the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE). This historic milestone marks the first time a woman has held this position since ICCE’s founding in 1997.
Learn more about some of the coaches receiving grants from the Petro-Canada Fuelling Athlete and Coaching Excellence (FACE) Program in 2025. The FACE Program supports athletes and coaches from across the country to help them represent Canada at a future Paralympic or Olympic Games.

This year’s honourees include Andrzej Sadej for his lifelong contributions to Para Judo and high-performance coaching, Joe Cecchini for guiding the youngest-ever female world champion in skeleton, Karol Sauvé for his leadership in coach development, Baseball Canada’s Women in Coaching Program for its groundbreaking support of female coaches, and 67 coaches with the Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Awards.
