OTTAWA, ON (June 26, 2026) – The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is pleased to welcome two new Directors to its Board with one new member announcement to follow.  This transition reflects the CAC’s ongoing commitment to strong governance and to ensuring the voices at its leadership table reflect the diversity of Canada’s sport system.

The CAC Board of Directors is composed of 15 members representing key sectors of the Canadian sport community. Together, the Board provides strategic direction and oversight, supporting the CAC’s mission to enhance the experience of all athletes and participants in Canada through quality coaching.

Newly Elected Members:

Kia Schollar - Community Coach Representative

Kia is a collaborative and visionary leader with nearly two decades experience in Canada’s sport system as an athlete, coach, and administrator. As a canoe-kayak athlete, Kia represented Canada from 2005 through 2012 at Pan American Games, World Championships, World Cups, and Pan American Championships. Professionally, her work in high-performance sport development intersects with grassroots and provincial sport across Saskatchewan, and on a personal level she has invested countless hours coaching youth teams across basketball, football, canoe kayak, and more. Kia brings a strong NCCP pedigree and recently completed her MBA at Queen’s University.

Christine Miles - Member-at-Large

Christine is a seasoned sport and business leader with more than 15 years of coaching experience in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL), where she currently also serves as a Board Director. Professionally, she is the Director of Partnerships for the Institute of Corporate Directors, following a successful 15-year career with Scotiabank in brand marketing, sport sponsorship, and strategic partnerships. A former varsity hockey player at the University of Guelph, Christine was a member of the OUA Championship-winning team and has remained deeply involved in sport through hockey and ball hockey leadership roles as both a coach and Board Director. Passionate about advancing opportunities for girls and women in sport, she is a dedicated advocate for inclusive leadership, athlete development, and the continued growth of women’s sports.

The CAC would like to express gratitude to outgoing Board member Tom Norton, ChPC, for his contributions over the years. His leadership and dedication have played a vital role in shaping the organization’s direction and advancing the coaching profession in Canada.

“We are pleased to welcome Christine and Kia to the CAC Board of Directors,” says Bill Greenlaw, Chair of the CAC Board. “Their leadership, expertise, and commitment to sport will strengthen our work as we advance the organization’s priorities for 2026.”

The Federal Government Representative seat is currently vacant and will be filled through the CAC's established nomination process in the near future.
