Historically, coaching has been a male-dominated profession, rooted in traditions and practices that privileged certain pathways and excluded others. The recent rise of women’s sport, characterized by landmark moments such as the inclusion of women’s events in the Olympic Games and the passage of legislative reforms like Title IX in the United States, opened new avenues for women athletes. However, for women coaches, progress has been uneven, with systemic barriers persisting.
