Coaching Association of Canada

What are the Benefits to ChPCs and Registered Coaches?

When you achieve your Chartered Professional Coach® (ChPC®) designation, you become a valued member of a community of coaches recognized for your knowledge, experience and ethical conduct—as well as for your commitment and passion.

When you obtain your Registered Coach license, you are recognized as a coach who been screened (Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC), reference checked and signed the National Coaching Certification Program™ (NCCP) Code of Conduct) by the Coaching Association of Canada™ (CAC).

Attaining the ChPC® designation or a Registered Coach license grants you the right to add the designation or license to your name on your business card, resume, name tag, and so on.

Beyond these intangible yet valuable benefits, you also receive access to tangible benefits:

  • Get Liability Insurance for Coaches

Liability insurance is necessary to protect yourself while you work outside your regular coaching environment. The CAC provides this service to ChPCs and Registered Coaches at a discount.

The insurance package provides coverage for paid coaches, unpaid coaches, independent coaches, team leaders, mentors, instructors, and coach developers who may not be insured when working/volunteering with teams, groups, or sanctioned organizations. It also provides additional protection in the event your team or sanctioning body does not have adequate insurance.

Canadian Insurance Brokers Inc. (CIBI) in conjunction with the CAC has formed an exclusive National Insurance Program for Coaches across Canada.

  • Obtain Health and Dental Benefits

As a ChPC or Registered Coach in good standing, you have access to an easy-to-use, affordable, and competitive health and dental benefits program. Depending on your coverage needs, you may opt into one of 2 plans: OPTION 1 and OPTION 2

    Benefits of joining include:

         - Added financial security for you and your family

         - No medical forms to be completed with participating providers. SImply fill out your enrolment form and a Green Shield pay-direct card will be sent to you; and

         - Insurance is less expensive to obtain through a group plan than in the individual insurance market.
