Ron Wuotila

High Performance Coaching Consultant, Own the Podium

Theme: Coaching assessment and development – taming the disruption through a system

In this session Ron will present a case for establishing foundational coaching and leadership principles to better manage assessment and development programs in today’s age of disruption.

Ron will tie in elements of the Coaching Enhancement Program (CEP) including the coaching framework, assessment principles and the need and risk of adapting developmental experiences for coaches and leaders.

Ron has been fortunate to work in diverse sporting environments over the course of his thirty-year career, including exposure to unique sport cultures in Canada, the USA and Great Britain.

Over the course of the majority of those years, Ron has coached or managed coaches from youth sport, to U-Sport, the NCAA and Olympic programs. In many instances this included working with a broad selection of sports that has provided Ron with an appreciation for the diversity of approaches across sports as well as the reality that no two successful coaches work in the same way.

Most recently, Ron launched RW Sport Performance a consulting firm committed to helping sport organizations assess their performance, develop leaders and coaches as well as develop plans for future success.

Ron is currently working with OTP, CAC, COC, Sport Canada and CPC to develop the Coaching Enhancement Program, a cutting edge development initiative intended to support our Olympic coaches in their pursuit of excellence.
