Post-secondary education is not only an opportunity to learn, and be educated – but it is also an opportunity to find out more about yourself and who you want to be.
The University of Windsor certainly had that impact on Canada Games Women in Coaching apprentice Nikki Reiter.
With a multi-sport background, it wasn’t until attending the University of Windsor (where she attained a Bachelor of Human Kinetics, and a Masters of Human Kinetics in Applied Human Performance), that Reiter decided to focus on cross country and middle-distance running as an athlete and joined the University of Windsor Lancers.
Reiter’s passion for running also drove her to share the sport with others -- she coached high school athletes, and multiple seasons with the Windsor Legion Track and Field Club.
Reiter coached a carded para-athlete in 2008 and is now the Head Coach of the Women’s Cross Country Running team at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus where she works as a Laboratory Coordinator.
