Topic: Actively Engaging Women and Girls: Strategies to Disrupt the Status Quo

Many organizations have identified gender equity as a priority, but struggle to know where to start or what to do next. This panel presentation will feature representatives from national and provincial/territorial sport organizations who will share their experiences with “disruptive innovation” to enhance programs, influence organizational culture, and advance significant and lasting change for women and girls in their sport. To support leaders and organizations in taking action, discussion will explore panelists’ efforts, impacts, challenges and learnings related to a range of topics, from participation and training environments, coaching approaches, the recruitment and retention of female leadership, to organizational culture and leadership.

Nathalie has been the Technical Director with Ringette Canada since 2008. She has been working in the not-for-profit sport industry in Canada for almost 20 years at various NSOs. She has been a PSO board member as well as involved with PSO committees, and has completed Level 3 NCCP training in volleyball. She is committed to her work with LTAD for close to 12 years and has been working with the ringette partners in Canada on strengthening coaching certification, particularly with the requirements relating to certified female coaches in a predominantly female participation sport.
