Lesley Taylor grew up on a sailboat and has devoted a large part of her life to mastering, and teaching the sport of sailing. As a dedicated proponent proponent of the National Coaching Certification Program, Taylor is an active Master Learning Facilitator for Sail Canada.
Currently the Head Coach of the Hubbards Ssailing Cclub, and a high school science teacher, Taylor spends the majority of her time developing young 16-22 year old coaches and club and provincial level athletes from 12-18. She has coached athletes at the club, provincial, and national levels, and has coached at venues locally in Atlantic Canada and throughout North America. Sailors she has coached have competed at national and international events, including world championships.
When asked what she was looking forward to the most about the Canada Games Women in Coaching Apprenticeship, Taylor responded: “I would like to meet lots of people who are very stoked on coaching, and learn about the structure of other sport organizations.”
