Kelsey Daley

Province: New Brunswick
Sport: Basketball
Mentor: Kevin Daley, Anna Stammberger
Fun fact: Competed nationally in both basketball and track and field.

When Kelsey Daley decided that it was time to end her competitive playing career and focus on coaching, she had a big decision to make: basketball or track and field?

Daley grew up as a dual-sport athlete through and through. She was a prominent member of the Saint Mary’s Huskies basketball team, including being named an AUS All-Star, and also competed nationally with Team New Brunswick where she won a variety of medals. When not winning medals and being acknowledged for her prowess on the basketball court, Daley was competing internationally in track and field. She competed in the 2005 and 2009 Canada Games, as well as the Pan American Games in 2005, in the 1500 and 3000 metre races.

Ultimately, she decided to follow in the footsteps of her father, and her Canada Games Women in Coaching Apprenticeship mentor, Kevin Daley, and began coaching basketball. Kelsey has been active in coaching with the U15 and U17 Team New Brunswick provincial basketball teams and is currently the Assistant Coach with Dalhousie University’s women’s basketball team.
