Jennifer Power-Hawyrlak

Province: Prince Edward Island
Sport: Swimming
Mentor: William Calhoun
Fun Fact: Worked as a Disaster Relief Worker with the American Red Cross for the 1994 Earthquake in Los Angeles, and the 1996 Hurricane Hortense in Puerto Rico.

When Jennifer Power-Hawyrlak isn’t volunteering as a Disaster Relief Worker at natural disasters all over the world, or being presented the Gold Duke of Edinburgh award by Prince Philip, you’ll probably find her in the water. As an active masters swimmer, and Ironman competitior, the only time Power-Hawyrlak is sitting down is when she’s at her full-time job as a Programmer Analyst for the Canadian Revenue Agency.

Currently the assistant coach with the Summerside Dolphins swim team and president of the Summerside Masters team, Power-Hawyrlak’s role as a current masters athlete has fuelled her coaching. Her hopes for the Canada Games Women in Coaching Apprenticeship are to continue to learn to be as effective as possible.
