FMS for Parents

Why should I take a NCCP FMS workshop?

Every parent wants their child to grow up healthy and happy. Children who can correctly perform the fundamental movement skills have a higher likelihood of becoming active, healthy adults, and experiencing success in sport.

From fun, family games, to tasks around the house, parents are exposed to a multitude of opportunities to ensure their children correctly develop the fundamental movement skills. To do so, parents need to be able to identify, observe, and instruct the fundamental movement skills so that their children develop them properly.

Gain the confidence and knowledge necessary to teach your children the fundamental movement skills by taking one of our NCCP FMS workshops.

What workshop should I take?

You have two options: the 8 hour workshop provides an in-depth, comprehensive introduction to the fundamental movement skills and includes significant hands on activities, while the 3 hour workshop covers the same information in a condensed format and is better for people with previous knowledge of the fundamental movement skills, coaching, or working with children 6 through 10.

All participants of either workshop will receive a certificate indicating their completion of the course, and will be entered into The Locker, the National Coaching Certification Program database, for access to resources and tools made available by the Coaching Association of Canada.
