CAC Coaching Research Committee

The CAC Coaching Research Committee was created in March 2005 to assist CAC to develop a formal research program and create a stronger link between university-based research and CAC programs and services.

Members of the Committee are:

Dr. Jim Denison (University of Alberta)
Dr. Gretchen Kerr (University of Toronto)
Dr. Darren Kruisselbrink (Acadia University)
Dr. Phil Sullivan (Brock University)
Joanne Kay (Sport Canada)
John Bales (CAC)
Dr. Diane Culver (CAC)

The Committee’s mandate is:

  1. To develop a CAC research strategy.
  2. To review issues raised by program development and delivery groups and to present a ‘research’ perspective on these issues.
  3. To act as a “think tank” group to identify and clarify research needs within the coaching field.
  4. To develop Requests for Research Proposals and to adjudicate proposals.
  5. To encourage a broad range of research activities on coaching.
  6. To provide a forum where researchers and practitioners can share research needs and agendas, and disseminate results.
