Coaching Research

Coaching Research is an essential component for athlete and coach development. Our athletes need coaches who can apply the theoretical models and important findings of research to the practical reality of day-to-day coaching.

This section of the website will include updates on the activities of the CAC Coaching Research Committee and research reports in an effort to better link researchers and coaches in the implementation of more effective coaching programs.

Through its leading-edge research studies, CAC is fostering an attitude of continuous improvement and searching for better ways to enhance athlete and coach performance. More…

Coach Education Research

Projects must demonstrate collaboration (i.e. project design, implementation, and dissemination of findings) between the researcher(s) and sport organizations in Canada. More…

CAC Coaching Research Symposium

The Coaching Research Symposium is an annual event held in conjunction with the Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference. Its main objectives are to present current research on coaching and coach education, to create a network of Canadian researchers interested in this field and to strengthen the linkages among researchers and practitioners.
