What are you most looking forward to about coaching on home soil?
Just that! Competing for your home country, in your home country. The vibe and excitement is certainly there.

What was the most important part of your preparation as a coach?
The most important part or our coaching preparation was started shortly after our Gold Medal win in London 2012. We had a coaches’ retreat with our IST within a month from returning and starting to plan for the next quadrennial. You cannot take anything for granted and all areas of Sport Performance, like building your training and competition plan must begin early.

What would a medal performance by one of your athletes mean to you as a coach?
Our goal is to medal and qualify for Rio 2016.

What tip do you have for development and community coaches?
Spend the time to learn the sport in its entirety. This included being a coach, athlete, parent, administrator, and an official. It’s a great way to really understand the requirements and all of its different aspects when you actually become a coach.
