Ball Toss (adapted from the Cree version of volleyball)

Beach ball or balloon or volleyball or other implement
*Implement chosen must be soft enough to hit with the forearms
*For more of a challenge, use smaller implements

How it Works

Participants stand in a circle and volley the ball to each other, trying to keep it in the air. Goal is to achieve the maximum number of hits before the implement hits the ground. If it hits the ground, the count starts over.
*For increased participation, make the groups smaller and implement a guideline that each person must take turns hitting it. 

Applications

Team building, coordination, striking / hitting 

Modifications

Add movement (e.g. circle of athlete moves or spins across a designated area while playing the game).
Ask participants to switch places in their group or move to a new group after each hit.
Use in all environments: field, court, pool, snow, ice, gym.
