2011-2012 Investors Group Community Coaching Conferences

Calling all organizations, big and small! Are you hosting an event that will educate and develop coaches in your community? The Investors Group Community Coaching Conferences program has grants available for organizations that bring coaches of community-based sports together under one roof to learn, train, and network with each other. Check out the information below to see if your event is eligible!

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants can include:

  • Local schools
  • Parks and recreation departments
  • Community sport clubs
  • City leagues
  • Provincial/territorial coaching associations
  • Provincial/territorial sport organizations
  • National sport organizations

Grant Opportunities

There are three types of events that are eligible for the funding. Please read the requirements below for all three opportunities. On the application form, please be sure to mark the check-box that best represents the event you are organizing.

To allow for sufficient time for the planning of your conference, we recommend that your application be submitted two months before the date of the conference. If your conference is less than two months away, contact us at communityconferences@coach.ca to see if we can accommodate you. We do not accept applications for past events.

  • I am hosting a Conference

    An Investors Group Community Coaching Conference:

    • Targets coaches as a primary audience
    • Has a variety of sessions and speakers
    • Has a minimum of 20 participants
    • Provides networking opportunity
    • Presents an Investors Group Volunteer Sport Administrator Award (provided by Investors Group)
    • Recognizes Investors Group and CAC as sponsors
    • Is eligible for funding within the range of $500-$1,000 (upon receipt of a post-conference report)
  • I am hosting an NCCP Workshop

    An Investors Group Community Coaching NCCP Workshop:

    • Targets coaches as a primary audience
    • Is an NCCP approved sport-specific workshop or event for one or more of the following contexts: Community Sport / Instruction –  Beginners / Competition – Introduction
    • Can be used as a Learning Facilitator training event
    • Is lead by an accredited LF/MLF
    • Has a participation ratio of 5-30 participants per Learning Facilitator
    • Recognizes Investors Group and CAC as sponsors
    • Is eligible for funding up to $750 (upon receipt of a post-conference report)
  • I am hosting a Conference with an NCCP Workshop

    An Investors Group Community Coaching Conference with an NCCP Workshop:

    • Targets coaches as a primary audience
    • Has a variety of sessions and speakers
    • Has a minimum of 20 participants
    • Provides networking opportunity
    • Includes NCCP approved sport-specific workshop(s) or event(s) for one or more of the following contexts: Community Sport / Instruction – Beginners / Competition – Introduction
    • Presents an Investors Group Volunteer Sport Administrator Award (provided by Investors Group)
    • Recognizes Investors Group and CAC as sponsors
    • Is eligible for funding within the range of $750-$1,200 (upon receipt of a post-conference report)
